Costa Rican cuisine, still being invented
If the night has a reason, tell us first
An anniversary. A birthday that matters. A celebration you’ve been waiting for, or simply a night that deserves your full attention. When the occasion counts, the best thing you can do is forget the logistics and stay with the people you came to be with.
Óptica is built for that. An eight-course tasting menu that moves at its own pace, with no constant decisions and no interruptions, where the conversation stays at the center of the table and the kitchen takes care of the rest. Many of our guests choose it for exactly that quiet: you sit down, and the night builds itself, course by course, from Costa Rican ingredients taken in a direction you didn’t expect.
If you let us know when you book that it’s a special occasion, we prepare for it ahead of time and look after the details before you arrive. Some stories need a little more time to be told.
Silvestre at midday is one of our best-kept secrets
Between noon and three in the afternoon there’s a different version of Silvestre. The same kitchen, the same work of reinterpreting Costa Rican ingredients, but carried by the natural light that comes through the house in Barrio Amón and changes the whole experience.
The best part is that you don’t need to wait for a special occasion. It can be an ordinary Tuesday, a quiet meeting, or simply the wish to eat well. This isn’t a smaller version of dinner or a rushed set menu. It’s the same kitchen, seven days a week, Sundays included.
That’s why the people who find it tend to come back. Meeting this kitchen at midday has something of its own: less hurry, more light, the same attention to detail.
